Health & Vaccinations

Malaria risk is regional, not national; we flag it clearly on every itinerary that includes exposure.

Health

South Africa's major cities, the Cape, and the Garden Route are malaria-free. Risk exists in parts of the Kruger region, northern KwaZulu-Natal, and neighbouring countries such as Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, and Mozambique. We mark malaria exposure explicitly on every itinerary and destination page so it is never a surprise.

No vaccinations are legally required for entry from most countries, though a yellow fever certificate may be required if arriving from a yellow-fever-endemic country. We recommend consulting a travel health professional or clinic 4-6 weeks before departure for personalised advice on malaria prophylaxis and routine vaccinations.

Tap water is safe to drink in major cities. Reputable travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is strongly recommended for any safari itinerary.
