A city built between mountain and ocean, where Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula's coastal drives, and the V&A Waterfront's restaurants and boutiques sit within a short drive of each other.
Cape Town is usually where a South African journey opens or closes, and it earns the billing. Ride the cableway (or hike) to Table Mountain's summit, drive the full length of the Cape Peninsula to the lighthouse at Cape Point, and spend an afternoon with the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach. In the city itself, the V&A Waterfront's harbour-front dining and shopping sits a short trip from the colourful facades of Bo-Kaap and a ferry crossing to Robben Island. We build in the pacing: a city built on this much scenery rewards travelers who aren't rushed through it.
